I have a tilt-up garage door, and I would like to automate it. However since it is a tilt-up door, in order to close/open I need to make sure nobody/nothing in the way.

I have a thought of using ultrasound sensors, infrared sensors. The main question is how to cover the area in which an object can block the door ?

The main concern is the safety. I dont want to hit a child or damage a car which is in the way of the door.

Any ideas are more than welcome.

Thanks in advance

Atesz

You are present to watch when the port goes down

something expensive like this: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=Safety+Light+Curtains&t=canonical&iar=images&iax=images&ia=images
