I am new to MySensors and for that matter home automation in general, but I have setup OpenHab 2.0 on Windows 7 with a serial gateway device. I built a humidity and temp sensor and after a bit of trial and error (30 mins) the sensors were detected within OpenHab. Sensors are updating every 30 seconds without any issues even though the gateway is in the loft and the sensor is in the downstairs living room. I am very impressed at how easy your auto detection has made the initial setup. I have initially bought Vera Edge but my serial gateway has the wrong chipset to work with it so thought I would give this a try. I am tempted to sell the Vera now after having quick success thanks to your help, just need to keep an eye on the OpenHab 2.0 development and hope it's ready to use sometime soon.

AliExpress Arduino Nano NOT Vera Compatible
I purchased the Arduino Nano listed in the Store section (http://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/eQZBQ3Rj6), this comes with CH340G USB chip which is not supported by Vera. There is a workaround using ser2net but I have not been able to successfully get this working. It is also tricky to get this USB chip working on OSX as there is not a signed driver for Yosemite.
The eBay source also linked in the store does appears to come with FT232RL USB chip although I have not ordered one of these yet this should be compatible.

RE: Safe In-Wall AC to DC Transformers??
Not a big fan of soldering SMD components and I cannot find standard components, how essential is the 2nd fuse and varistor on the 5v side?

RE: Safe In-Wall AC to DC Transformers??
Don't suppose anyone could tell me what components (values) need to be purchased for 230v (UK)? I have bought 10 of these and wish to make them as safe as I can.

I have also bought the Hi-Link modules, 10 arrived today, they seem very well built, but I have yet to try them.

RE: Override Function
Thanks for the heads up with the app, it certainly seems a lot better, setup the geofencing tonight so will see how that works out. I need to have a look at PLEG next and see how it ticks, unfortunately no sign of any of my sensors yet

RE: Override Function
I have been finding the iOS app interface is quite slow, I tested openhab before putting the money down on Vera and it was much quicker although a bit old looking. But OpenHab looked like a bit too much to bite off for my first foray into home automation.

RE: Override Function
I had already decided that I will need PLEG and happy to pay for it, is this standard functionality within PLEG or I need to put together the logic myself?

Override Function
I have just received my Vera Edge and did the basic setup, I was wondering if there is an override function i.e. if I create a scene which switches on the lights when it gets dark and there is movement in the room BUT I am watching a moving and want to override the basic functionality and switch the lights off. How is this handled in vera, is it built in functionality or is it something I need to create logic for, or should I try creating a plugin?
