      Thank you.
I did eprom reset and then uploaded another sketch from mysensors examples at arduino.

Where i start the node everything seems to be fine

But I still cant see it in OpenHab inbox or find it using autodiscovery.

When I add thing manually everything works as it should.

Are there some cashes which needs to be cleared?
      Thank you.

    • Minimum sketch requirement for OpenHAB discovery to work

      Hi.
I upgraded my gateway to latest stable version. (great tutorial btw)

I had some really old nodes which I decommissioned and want to build new ones.

Since there were some major changes in mysensors since ver 1.4 upon which they were built,
I was thinking that I would like OpenHAB to autodetect new nodes and would like to know what is the minimum that has to be done in sketch to be autodetected by OpenHAB.

Right now Iam testing actuator sktech with staticaly set address.
      here

When I delete this manually added node, I would like to be discovered by OpenHAB.
Or does it work only with new nodes (never registered to gateway?)

Or is there any other rule which I need to follow?

      Thank you.
      p.
      p.s.:
Iam running on RPI2 wheezy latest apt-get update & upgrade,
GW is on RPI2 connected using SPI and built from latest stable git repo.
      OpenHAB ver 2.4 from apt-get.
      MySensors binding ver 2.4.0.
Communication is tested and I can see node on gateway (in debug logs)

Just to let you know, that best result I got was when I changed the DHT library (sparkfun) for the one with this sketch. with this sketch.

      Thank toy for your time.

Connected DHT22 to 5V suply and spikes are still present.
Ill try to move capacitor closer to radio to decouple it from the rest.

      Cheers.

    • RE: DHT22 generates off scale values

      Hi thank you for responding.
Interesting thing for me is that first Arduino does not show the spikes.

Anyway I tried to connect DHT22 sensor on second one to 5V DC from USB and will monitor it.

Maybe its in the way that DHT22 likes 3.3V and any fluctuations will lead to instabilities?

      Cheers PH

    • DHT22 generates off scale values

      Hi.
Iam building battery node for temperature.
Before I move to battery related stuff I wanted to have two nodes up and running. In that way I can have reference node which is powered from USB DC 5V and battery powered node.

This way I could evaluate battery nodes measurements before moving in to production.

BTW: All nodes are hooked to NRF radio, I did not mentioned it before. That is why there is 4.7 uF capacitor.

      1. I left my second node powered from programmer, but its measurements were total different. So I connected it to the same 5V DC as the first one. Its values are now almost identical.
      2. However, from time to time I see reading offscale values (spikes).

      alt text

      R = 4K7
      V = 4.7uF

      Here are some graphs
      alt text
      and
      alt text

      Iam using
      Arduino 1.6.7
DHT sensor library by Adafruit v 1.2.3 (also Adafruit DHT unified 1.0.0)
      MySensors library 1.5.4
      OpenHab 1.8.3 with openHab binding.

      Sketch is here: 0_1465243821164_HumiditySensor_101.ino

Only reference to similar problem I found here.
Which says that when connected to 5V problem disappeared. But DHT22 should be running fine from 3V?

Does anyone have idea what could cause these occasional spikes?
      Please help.

      Thank you.
      PH

UPDATE 2016-06-07 DHT22 connected to 5V suply. Spikes are still there. Ill try to move capacitor closer to radio.

    • RE: openHAB binding

      Hi thank you.
I solved my issue, but when I wanted to update my post, the thread was locked.

Here in this post its said that I should create link to virtual port like this

      sudo ln -s /dev/ttyMySensorsGateway /dev/ttyUSB20

Pointing OpenHab binding to this port solved my problem.

I did try to add command line parameter to /init.d script for OpenHab but that did not work.

      Cheers.

    • RE: Cheap LDO for battery usage

      Hi.
Last few days I spent my free time with searching for step up converter.
I need to powet DHT22 from batteries, It needs 3.3V.

You can either get one on alliexpress or build one.

Using nowdays ICs which are very efficient and need only four or five components was my choice.
I found MAXIM-DALLAS MAX856CSA+ or LINEAR TECHNOLOGY LT1300CS8#PBF which are both step up converters with choice of voltage (3.3/5V) using digital input.

Both are able to handle your currents.

      Nice tutorial can found here

You can also find some tutorial on instrucatables .

Also nice post about this is here.

I know you wanted step down regulators but if you head to pages of Linear technology (http://www.linear.com/) or Maxim (www.maximintegrated.com) you will find what you are looking for.

      Happy digging!

    • RE: openHAB binding

      Hi.
I just added your binding and I am very happy for it because I have spent quite some time to figure out, how do I integrate mySensors in to Openhab.

      My setup
      RPI2
      did apt-get update && apt-get upgrade
OpenHab (openHAB runtime has been started (v1.8.1))
I have NRF24L01+ connected directly to RPI using SPI.
I am running PiGatewaySerial service and Iam able to see communication when i do

      sudo cat /dev/ttyMySensorsGateway

      for example

      7;255;3;0;15;0
      7;255;0;0;17;1.5.4
      7;255;3;0;6;0
      7;255;3;0;11;Humidity
      7;255;3;0;12;1.0
      7;0;0;0;7;
      7;1;0;0;6;

My problem is that openHab is unable to access /dev/ttyMySensorsGateway
I see error in my logs

      2016-03-11 23:30:11.288 [ERROR] [.o.b.m.internal.gateway.Serial] - Unable to find Serial port '/dev/ttyMySensorsGateway'

I found @BastienVH post and modified /etc/init.d/openhab JAVA_ARGS_DEFAULT section and added at the end of defintion

       -Dgnu.io.rxtx.SerialPorts=/dev/ttyMySensorsGateway"

      and restarted service

      Sadly, there was no change.
      Please can you help?

      Thank you.
