It feels like the intro is aimed towards people who are already into the project, whereas IMO it should just show really quickly what MySensers can do, and, most importantly, what it takes to use it. Perhaps, with pictures, or videos. Otherwise, people could think "it's for nerds only" and leave.

This will make the website more new-user-friendly.

Then I created an account with my Google mail, then tried to register again in another browser and it basically logged me in that new account.

I have a "DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials" plugin, maybe it had an influence on this.
