I've enabled the battery reading in the code, sensor 199, but I struggeling to find out how this all works and where is the battery level?

Your sensor is asking kindly for an id.
Use a controller that is able to hand out ids or switch to a static node id.
Example for node id 105:
gw.begin(NULL, 105, false)
