    Hi, I'm totally new to this mysensor thing and I'm trying to set up a serial gateway for my Vera plus controller. I have followed the instructions, tripple checked the wiring to the radio, tried different radio modules, checked that I have a FTDI nano etc. but I cannot get it to show up in the serial port config in UI7 (Vera). If I connect the nano to the PC and open the serial monitor I get this:

      Still not able to get this Serial gateway to work. When its connected to the computer the serial monitor just loops these lines :

      0;255;3;0;9;TSF:MSG:READ,0-0-0,s=0,c=0,t=0,pt=0,l=0,sg=0:
      0;255;3;0;9;!TSF:MSG:LEN,0!=7
      0;255;3;0;9;TSF:MSG:READ,0-0-0,s=0,c=0,t=0,pt=0,l=0,sg=0:
      0;255;3;0;9;!TSF:MSG:LEN,0!=7

      Any help is appreciated.

          Hi, I use the following HW:

          Arduino Nano with FTDI chip
          (http://www.ebay.de/itm/FTDI-FT232RL-Arduino-Nano-V3-0-kompatibles-Board-ATMEL-ATmega328-16mhz-114/222594639875?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649)

          NRF24L01
          (http://www.ebay.de/itm/1-2-3-5-10-Arduino-NRF24L01-2-4GHz-Wireless-RF-Transceiver-Module-UK-Seller/262714698217?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=561644846511&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649)

          I have tested several different radio units, same result. I have only one Arduino Nano so not able to test with different ones. I have also added a 10uF capacitor between Vcc and GND on the radio module, but no difference.

            @henninne How things are powered?

            • Did you test with an active USB-Hub (non USB3)?
            • Did you power the nRF-Module from 3.3V provided by the nano or use a seperate regulator?

            Controller: FHEM; MySensors: 2.3.1, RS485,nRF24,RFM69, serial Gateways

              When its connected to the PC its power thorugh the USB, at the Vera HA controller its connected to a powered USB2 hub.

              Yes the nRF is connected to the 3.3V pin on the nano, not the Vcc.

                @henninne AS power from 3.3V@nano is limited: Could you try to use a seperate regulator to 3.3V sourced directly from 5V comming from USB? Also adding a 2., bigger capacitor could help a little.

                Controller: FHEM; MySensors: 2.3.1, RS485,nRF24,RFM69, serial Gateways

                  I tried to run the nRF from a second 3.3V regulator, so it doesn't get power from the nano, but it deosn't make any difference.

                    @henninne did you add capacitor to the radio ?

                      I added a 10uF to the radio, but I do not have more of them so i cannot try with more or one with a higher value. The 10uF dis not make any difference.

                        @henninne - capacitor is vital! If you have a clone it wont work without... its very sensitive.

                          Ok, Thanks for the tip. I will try this as soon as I have it available. Do you have any idea on value of the cap? 50uF , 100uF or more?

                            Ok, so I added more capacitors, but still the same printout in the serial monitor. Any more ideas?
