The weather seems to change next week, so I guess I will try to mill a PCB and fit this little thing to it.

@Lars65 I've used the SMD version in some of my designs. I find it easier to just solder the module right to the board rather than plug it into a header. Mine work great! I've read that at that price point they are probably counterfeit chips as the Nordic Semiconductor nRF24L01+ chips are quite a bit more expensive than that whole board, but they work fine.

Pretty much as @Yveaux said, I found it easier to solder them on the side and not top and directly to the board. sometimes I have had to add some extra solder in the tops so it drains down on the board. If you have some overdimensioned smd pads on your board for the nrf its easier.

@mfalkvidd I guess the reliabillity depends on the enviroment.
short term solution for a quick repair, maybe.
But I agree, seems pretty neat.

@Lars65 a cheap USB Microscope on ebay helps when soldering.
The PCB has I milld on my CNC milling machine.

@Yveaux I have soldered one, plus a small smd capacitor size 0805 and YES, It was tricky. :)
