HC-12 instead of NRF24L01+ ?

The HC-12 is not currently supported by MySensors. Building support is most likely possible, if someone has the interest, knowledge and time.
The RFM69 radio has similar characteristics (433MHz, long range, similar price) as HC-12, and the RFM69 is already supported by MySensors. How about using that?

The thing is that I already have around 10 HC-12s ... I really wanted to use them. I've already ordered 5 of NRF24L01+, so not completely out of the game ... and I'll probably still use HC-12, but maybe I'll build a very simple protocol with it. I don't think I'll have enough time to make MySensors support HC-12, unfortunately :(

@wasp MySensors supports RS485 which is a serial interface. Since the HC-12 has a serial interface, maybe it is possible to connect the HC-12 instead of a RS485 device and "fool" MySensors that it is a real rs485 device?
I haven't used HC-12, nor RS485, so I have no experience in this area but it might be worth trying?
