Sending battery level over MQTTClient Gateway

I wonder whether the MQTT Client Gateway is supposed to handle I_BATTERY_LEVEL messages?
Before I start digging why my sketch or gateway doesn't work, it would be good to know.

If it is not supported I highly appreciated, if somebody could point me to where I could start in order to add that support.
