Controller + gateway + data storage simultaneously on Arduino

I'm begginer in MySensors stuff but I have some experience in Arduino, so.. Is it possible to do it?
I'm not interested in whole GUI.. just wont to display some data on "masters" LCD and storage the data on SD card.
I want to control the parameters from the "master" by potentiometers or buttons for example.. I can easily wrote the code for this. But can I use MySensors libraries, network configuration for this case?

Using an Arduino as a minimalistic Controller should work. You just need to listen for data from the gateway. The protocol is documented here http://www.mysensors.org/download/serial_api_15
