AC Power/Current Monitor
-
Hi,
Sorry new to forum and the mysensor concept as a whole. I've recently purchased a batch of arduinos (12+) with PIR sensors, wireless adaptors with the intent of putting motion sensors around my house (at least 1 each room) and hooking it somehow into my Fibaro HC2.
In the process of mapping things through I realised it's not going to be viable to actually control each power outlet but what would be really useful would be to monitor the consumption at each outlet. To that end I looked to see if there was a AC current sensor in MySensors and I dont think there is.
Has anyone looked at this aspect before? I was thinking of the non invasive tap's like this: http://store.arduino.cc/product/E000020 with appropriate shield (if required?) and mysensor package.
If not I'll see if i can knock something together based on one of the other sensor's code... is that how it works with MySensor?

Hello,
in 1.4 emonlib was introduced for that, but I guess someone has to propose a sketch, either with intrusive or non intrusive method...
on my side the idea wat to catch a dorbell this way...

@AtomicGrog There's another thread in here (http://forum.mysensors.org/topic/298/ina219-dc-current-sensor) discussing current sensors. Hope this helps!

Sort of does. I'll checkout the library and dig a bit further into the thread.
