Are you sure you have the correct comport selected? If so and you are on a Windows machine, check the com port in the device manager to make sure it is set up properly, e.g. now yellow exclamation point (). If you have the yellow exclamation in device manager, you will need to resolve that issue first, which will most likely be a driver issue.
