    • How to mill a PCB at Home!

      Hey Friends,

i'm proud to present my small VideoSessions (2) to describe the complete process to mill a PCB with chilipeppr. I hope you like it? Comments are welcome!

This Playlist describe the process (Eagle + Chilipeppr + Prepare CNC + Mill on CNC) on my CNC (eShapeoko) to made a PCB with Chilipeppr and GRBL.

    • XAmbi Kid mini Pro - Prototype

      Hi Friends,

here some videos (german!) about my new "XAmbi Kid mini pro":

      https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYPTUTcLMTK4jhJH769SKW6X1YBWLqYL7

You can use three different Transceivers:

      • RFM70 or NRF24L01(SMD) with mysensors.org library
      • RFM12B or RFM69X with jeelib library

The PCB are shared at oshpark: https://oshpark.com/shared_projects/ezK4aEQd

      top

      And here some Features:

      • use a normal Arduino mini pro as stacked interface
      • optional you can add Magnetometer HML3358 and/or SHT21 (Temperature/Humidity)
      • powered via coincell CR2032
      • small Footprint (25mm x 41mm)
      • holes to screw on a enclosure
      • extra pins for D2 - D9 for ur external sensors
      • extra I2C pins
      • Flash for OverTheAirUpdate's

Some Features are not testet now, but i will publish some news about this Project here.

You like it? You want some more Informations?

Ok, write here in this thread πŸ™‚

    • Sensornodes: XAmbi Kid's

      Hello,

first of all. This is my first thread in this Forum πŸ™‚

I realy like the concept from mySensors and found this some weeks before. I read all the nice Tutorials and Builds and will show my Concept:

      https://xpix.github.io/XAmbi/
      https://github.com/xpix/XAmbi/tree/master/Xambi_kids

      IMG_2516.JPG

      The Features:

      • small footprint (50mm x 28mm)
      • use standard RFM12B Modules with small poweruse
      • design for this enclousure: (PDF)
      • works with standard Coin cell (CR2032) for a ~year
      • has a (optional) Booster on board to make 2.5V to 5V for special sensors or relais
      • infraed led for TV or IR serial IR communication
      • special Sensorboard for stacking

The Software on this kids use the JeeLib:
      http://jeelabs.net/projects/jeelib/wiki

      The Xambi Gateway:
      https://github.com/xpix/XAmbi/blob/master/Xambi-RPI-Gateway/README.md

I use a very robust library with a lot of Features, support the RFM12 and RFM69 Transceivers together.

Here some photos from the last version 0.4:

Ok, it's enough ... a before i forgot. At this time i work on a MySensors Transportation library:

    • RE: Minimal design thoughts

Hi, i ordered some boards from OSHPark and at the weekend i solder this thing together. Here a pic from my work πŸ™‚

      IMG_3099.JPG - Windows Photo Viewer 2015-05-11 10.11.04.png

Ok, it's work. You see, i have old nrf24 Modules they have not the same pinout, but i ordered some here in germany.

      Some points to the design:

      • this pcb has on both sides small SMD Components, that very hard to solder. I solder my one with an IR Oven and can only solder one side. It's mostly ok becouse on the second size i can solder with an iron, but never 04 components πŸ™‚
      • the size of smd components are too small, i understand this when you use the small Atemag328p MLF and only 04 components. Better are 0603 or 0805.

Ok, enough ... the board are great and give me a lot of ideas to my board. my are a small bigger but use the nrf24l01+ SMD version and a normal arduino pro mini. Please have a look:

Here with installed HML5883 Magnetometer, but sadly doesn't work.

Don't know why, but i decided to rework the design and replace all I2C sensors with a Solarcharger/Supercap-PowerSupply and add a voltage booster for 5V.
