After an HA update I would first separate a gateway/serial problem from the HA integration. Check Settings > System > Hardware to confirm that the USB device still appears and note its serial device path; make sure the container or VM still passes that device through. Then verify that the gateway port and baud rate match the sketch (many gateways use 115200, while some 8 MHz boards use 38400), and check the HA log for serial-open or permission errors. Stop HA and watch the port with a serial monitor while triggering a sensor; if no lines arrive, test the gateway, USB cable, and power separately. If frames do arrive, compare the integration's node/presentation logs and reload the integration after confirming the update did not rename the port. Also check that no second process has the serial port open.
