      Attempt to build a independent LCD Node Sniffer / Scanner
      For easy debugging of just for fun ... (Still in progress)

      If there's animo let me know (before I put time into the fritzing)

      This is how I connected the LCD true a PCA8574 I/O expander chip to the Arduino
      using the I2C bus (A4 & A5).

    • Strange problems / behaviour on a project ? List of checkpoints :

      Hi all,

      I found (for me) a HUGE problem here (it took a while to accidentally run into this problem) so I thought ...
      let's share this troublemaker and I hope all you guys and girls add points to this list for "make sense of the sensors life"
      for easier troubleshooting ...

      CHECK / TEST your USB cable ... USB cable ? YES ... your USB cable ...
      and DON'T get CHEAP on your USB cable ...

      ☝ Let me tell you why ... ☝

      Somehow in the past I run into very strange behaviour or unexplainable errors with some MySensors projects and
      luckily I run into this - one of the small troublemakers -
      Today I 'moved' my Raspberry & Serial Gateway & RFXCom433 Transceiver to the next room and 'build' it up there to find out that the RFX unit doesn't work like it did any more and did not even reach my

      0_1453326695712_HE877_3.png

      any more ... yes it did reach about 1 or 2 times of 10 when I turned it ON and OFF ...
      And that switch stayed in the room my Raspberry & Serial Gateway & RFXCom433 Transceiver came from.
      So instead of the same room the switch was now in another room and did not work well any more, while I have a same kind of switch in the garage and never give any trouble reaching it in the past. (that one was unreachable now too).

      So ... with my WHAT THE FROG face 😳 build it back into the room where it came from to find out I moved the problem to that room too ... and totally surprised I checked out the RFX, hoping it wasn't broken, and in the mean time asking myself... did I drop it ? 😕 Did I step on it ? 😧 Does it smelled burned ? 😰 Did I drop some coffee over it ? 😞

      No.. nothing of that all. So after a while taking everything into my hobby room checking and 🔎 inspecting it

      somehow I figured out that nothing was changed except maybe I switched something in the configuration and I tried as many things I could possible do and finally after some switching and swapping I figured out that the USB cable
      was almost the same (... almost), I did some tests with it on the RFX device and other devices
      (my navigator did charge, but my Samsung did NOT !!) ... and YES ✨💡✨ THAT was clearly IT ❗
      That same cable maybe give me some unexplainable adventures with my projects (or maybe one of the...)

      So I hope other people add some points to this list and someone work that out ending up as kinda
      -= troubleshooting check list =- somewhere on the MySensor site / forum ... hek ... ? 😁

      And yes ... it's a long story for such a litle problem (cable) ... and YES I did found the emoticons on the forum 😁 😋 😂
      Just let me be happy 😋

      Hopefully I have less or non strange problems in the future.

      And the cable ? No it's NOT for sale ... I drive over it a few times with my Swedisch car 😑 , lived out on it with my axe and throw it into the fireplace and put the fire on for at least 23 hours ☺

      Hi JKandasa,

      I love to, but I try a lot but the OTA thing won't work here.
      I followed diff tutorials to setup, and tried with MYSController to update the firmware, but so far no success...

      So I kinda give up try update over air, I really don't know what I do wrong...

      Further ... MyController is working awesome here... +1

      Same problem here,

      very randomly only blink once when press reset button on node (or upload sketch)

      And something else... what about :

      #define MY_RANDOMSEED_PIN 7 // A7 - Pin used for random generation (do not connect anything to this)

      Must be pin 21 for A7 ?

      @bp_968

      Hi, Happy NY 2U2...

      Same problem here, no problem if reboot the rasp. but if I take down the rasp. for a while
      and startup the next day, sensors are there in domoticz but not a single sensor is responding on any command anymore, even rebooting sensor won't work, I figure out it helps to make the sensor powerless for a few minutes, but that's not working for every sensor (I was thinking I was the only one with this problem)
      Looks like the same problem in :
      http://forum.mysensors.org/topic/2604/error-sending-switch-command

      PS serial gateway here, 1.5 same problems with 1.4

      @tbowmo

      I tried so many way's to learn (again) that in most situations is the simplest/easiest the best.
      I used so many motors and in time they all let me down and have cost me lot of construction time (if there is interest I place a few pictures of my different projects).

      Finally I decide to use a MG995/MG996 with hack as motor (very robust and strong) and (I tried few different methods like a few types of IR trackers and with HALL sensors and magnets) now finally use a cny70 IR Sensor for positioning and a very simple sketch with a 'learning' possibility for start and stop position, and a little switch on it for manual usage, and it's still working very well.
      If your bright idea is working please share for learning and let me know if you want to use something of my project (in time I'll make a little small how-to project of it)

      Hi, I did it on 4 windows now, with shutters and rolling blinds, did you figure it out yet ?
      Or tell me what you want to know (i used S_COVER because I can use the "stop" button too.
