    Hello all,

    I'm succesfully using some Sensebender boards with 2 AA rechargeable batteries each, and I'm very pleased about the function and battery lifetime. It's very far beyond my expectations!

    But until now, I only used the internal temperature sensor. Now I want to use an external sensor (because the signal quality out of my fridge is really bad), an ds18b20 for example.

    I'm wondering if that's possible since the sensor has a voltage minimum around 3 Volts, and my batteries supply at most 2.6V.

    Any experiences out there? Or some hints for me? What can I do?

    Oha, you are right.

    The capacitor was the solution. I never thought that a battery-powered notebook could be a bad power source. Sorry for asking before having tried it ...

    Hello all.

    I cannot wait to get started and since I already own some arduinos and some radio modules, I tried to get the "door sensor" example running. But unfortunately it doesn't work at all.

    I've searched the forum, but even more unfortunately, all matching threads I found end before there was a solution ...

    This is what I did:

    • I connected two Arduinos and two radios and triple checked the wires
    • I uploaded the "serial gateway" example to one of them, the "door sensor" example to the other
    • I started both and looked at the serial monitors

    On the sensor node I have the following output:
    Sensor Node:

    Note there is one "st=ok" and lots of "st=fail".

    I've read about "assigning id not working without controller" and so on so I do not wonder why assigning an ID does not work. I will do further investigations in that direction (assigning a static id and so on).

    But my question is: why are there such a lot of failed transmissions and only a few are working?

    I will order some capacitors and try again, but since I've powered the Arduinos by a battery driven notebook I did not expect that much noise on the power line, or am I wrong?

  • Two questions from a newbie

    Hello all,

    I'm very glad having found this fantastic project. At the moment, I am inpatiently waiting for the chinese parts to arrive so I can start, but I am already thinking a lot about the possible projects.

    For now, I have two questions, and maybe you can help me.

    1. LTE mobile
      I've read that many older wireless gadgets which are working on 868 MHz today have problems because LTE mobile uses very similar frequencies. Do you have any experiences whether the recommended chips from Mysensors' buying guide are affected as well?

    2. My neighbour
      What if my neighbour also discovers this site and starts to build a network? Is there any possibility for the gateway to distinguish between "his" and "my" sensors?
