    • MySensors Communication Error

      VeraPlus UI7 version: 1.7.2044
      MySensors Gateway: ESP8266 - NodeMCU 0.9
      Library 2.0

      For some reason the Vera is unable to communicate with the gateway

      1. I can see proper information when connected to the gateway via MYSController, no radio problem
      2. I can ping the gateway IP address from my laptop
      3. I can connect to the gateway via telnet to IPADDRESS:5003

      When I logged in to the VeraPlus console

      1. I cannot ping the gateway IP, there is no reply.
      2. I can ping from the gateway to other devices in my network
      3. The MAC address of the gateway is resolved in the controller (arp -a)

      Vera is reporting
      MySensors plugin : Cannot send command - communications error

      Any idea?

    • RE: Vs2015+Visual Micro + MySensors

      OK,
      I was able to find the RCA.
      Apparently, the issue was related to the location of the #include and the const variables.
      The following code generates error

      const int SENSOR_ANALOG_PINS[] = { A0, A1 };

      #include <SPI.h>
      #include <MySensors.h>

      #define CHILD_ID_SENSOR		0
      #define CHILD_ID_VOLTAGE	1

      MyMessage msgTripped(CHILD_ID_SENSOR, V_TRIPPED);
      MyMessage msgVoltage(CHILD_ID_VOLTAGE, V_VOLTAGE);

      The following code is GOOD. Hence, the const values has to be defined post the header include

      #include <SPI.h>
      #include <MySensors.h>

      #define CHILD_ID_SENSOR		0
      #define CHILD_ID_VOLTAGE	1

      MyMessage msgTripped(CHILD_ID_SENSOR, V_TRIPPED);
      MyMessage msgVoltage(CHILD_ID_VOLTAGE, V_VOLTAGE);

      const int SENSOR_ANALOG_PINS[] = { A0, A1 };

    • Vs2015+Visual Micro + MySensors

      Hi,
      I've tried to migrate from the arduino IDE to the VS2015 Community+Visual Micro support for Arduino.
      When attempting to compile a sketch with MyMessage and receive handler I get an error "BatteryPoweredWaterLeakSensor.ino:39:20: error: 'MyMessage' does not name a type"

      When excluding the define of MyMessage and the receive handler there is no problem and project compile with no errors:

      void receive(const MyMessage &message) {

      }

      Compiling the same sketch with the Arduino IDE or when removing the MyMessage usage I get no errors.

      Any idea?

    • RE: NodeMCU and NRF+, SPI init problem

      Apparently there is an issue with the default CS (GPIO15)
      According to the board schematics documentation, it is already pulled down by 12k.
      It is expected to be low when the board init.
      For some reason when the NRF+ is connected it is running on high level.
      I overcome the problem by connecting the CS to D1 (GPIO5) instead and modified the MyConfig.h accordingly.
      Now I can init the board with no problem and the radio init properly every time.

    • NodeMCU and NRF+, SPI init problem

      Hi all,
      I'm struggling with my NodeMCU V0.9 gateway (esp8266), the board is powered via the micro usb (from my laptop or from usb charger).
      The board will not init if the CS is connected to the NRF+
      The board cannot be program/flash when the pin is connected to the NRF+.
      If I disconnect the pin and reset the board it will start-up,I can then either program the board or connect the pin and the radio will init (API 2.0).
      I've tried 10k pull down on the CS, but it did not help. still the board will not init when the cs is connected to the NRF+

      Any suggestions?

    • RE: Controller developers news for 2.0.x

      Where can I report a bug?

      			(void)WiFi.begin(MY_ESP8266_SSID, MY_ESP8266_PASSWORD);
      			#ifdef MY_IP_ADDRESS
      				WiFi.config(_ethernetGatewayIP, _gatewayIp, _subnetIp);
      			#endif

      The order should be different, otherwise the gateway will always be initated with DHCP and not with static IP
      The correct code would be

      			#ifdef MY_IP_ADDRESS
      				WiFi.config(_ethernetGatewayIP, _gatewayIp, _subnetIp);
      			#endif
      			(void)WiFi.begin(MY_ESP8266_SSID, MY_ESP8266_PASSWORD);

      refer to:
      Wifi lib config
