    Hi,

I am trying to debug a mysensors temp. sensor using this tool (it is not detected by Domoticz). I connected the serial gateway to your program and when I turn the temperature sensor, I see that there is traffic back and forth between the gateway and the sensor. But my knowledge stops there.... any pointers? I can upload a screenshot of the log if it helps.

    Thanks
    Z.

  • Debugging temp sensor
    Z zuru

Hi, I'm pretty new here but old to home automation...

I have a serial gateway talking to Domoticz OK. I build a temp. sensor using the Dallas sensor and uploaded the standard sketch. I think the hardware is working OK, because I tested the radio comm. separately using simple sketches, and then separately the Dallas sensor with a different sketch.

Domoticz doesn't see the temperature sensor. Does anyone have any pointers on how to debug this? When I monitor the serial ports of both the gateway and the sensor node, they seem to be talking OK.

Is there a way to debug the node<>gateway communication without firing up a controller? Is this a Domoticz issue?

    Thanks
    Z

  • Question: reading from gateway from Linux
    Z zuru

    Hi Folks,

I am new to this site and would like to try your approach (I already had built arduino sensors with the radio transmitters). I don't have a "controller" but rather would like to read the values of different sensors when the gateway is connected to a Linux box through the serial gateway. I browsed through your webpages but couldn't find how to do this. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. My immediate need is to read values from a temperature sensor.

    Thanks
    Z.
