I am struggling/playing with the PA_LEVEL settings and I am a bit confused:

For the sensors the MAX level is set by default in the config file without any comments (other than available levels).
I have non amplified radio's from 2 suppliers.
    One supplier says:

Transmit Power: (max) 4.5: +7 dB
    Receiver Sensitivity: ≦-90dB

    1. Q: What settings do I use?

I also have radio's that do not have any documentation at all :(

    2. Q: Any idea how to find out what settings I should use?

The amplified radio is simple (I hope), I am going to use it for the gateway and the config file says 'Tune here if using an amplified nRF2401+ in your gateway.'
The documentation says 'In the 2Mbit / s rate @ 0dBm output peak current of 11mA'.

    3. I assume that I have to set the level for these to RF24_PA_MAX

    4. But, what If I have a relay node or other sensor with an amplified antenna. can I simply override the config settings in the .ino sketch or do I have to change these in the config.h?

Suggestion: would it not be better to supply only a 'config.default' file to avoid overriding an existing config.h file?

    Cheers,

    Marcel

I have a FABtotum to print cases.

@marceltrapman in most cases the default MAX level is a best choice.
Only in some very special cases you will probably need to decrease levels. It can be useful if two devices are too close to each other.

@axillent OK, thank you. I will leave it default then.
