DIY case idea

Trying to find a case for my battery temperature sensor, I noticed my Netatmo sitting on the shelf. Found some 1.25” PVC piping laying around. The 3cm x 7cm green PCB boards fit perfectly inside as does the double battery case. Spray it with some stainless steel (or any color) paint.

Nice concept. Might be a good solution for outdoor temperature sensors and such.
Seems PVC pipes 32/40mm aren't as common as PP 32/40mm pipes here in Sweden at least though. PP allegedly is unsuitable for gluing, at least from what I've been able to ascertain from some quick googling.
As a side note, we really should have a thread about weather sealing outdoor sensors (or rather, protecting them against humidity and corrosion). That field sure is a jungle with a lot of different opinions, from gore-tex vents, to resin casting, to air tight, to rain protected but otherwise open to the elements. From what I've gathered, the best course of action when doing something on the cheap as we are is to provide ample ventilation and not go for some sort of faux diy air tight solution that in practice is anything but air tight and allows for condensation. On the other hand, you don't want dust or insects inside your enclosure.

@bjornhallberg PVC isn't really good for the enviroment, PP and PE is much better. Use heat instead of glue for those. :)
