ESP8266 Gateway runs DHCP, not static
-
Running an ESP8266(NodeMCU 1.0) gateway with MY_IP_ADDRESS uncommented and MY_RADIO_NRF24 commented out, without problem. I get the desired I.P. address.
However, when I uncomment MY_RADIO_NRF24 it starts running DHCP.
Any ideas?

@Straydog which type of gateway are you using? mqtt? If that's the case it looks to me like the change in https://github.com/mysensors/MySensors/commit/dda9cefd93fd4a899ea1348e09e4fe2ce9b61ad4 also needs to be done at https://github.com/mysensors/MySensors/blob/dd9dff77ed1948db2b348bbdb82d0d3daa9e8e3a/core/MyGatewayTransportMQTTClient.cpp#L140
-
@tekka was quick to submit a pull request for that fix, https://github.com/mysensors/MySensors/pull/772
-
You're probable right. Running GatewayEsp8266 example but I seem to recall having had the same problem with the MQTTGateway. Will test and get back with you...Thanks
And thanks for the quick response.

Problem persists, running version "MySensors Library v2.2.0-beta" downloaded today.

I have the same problem. I am not able to fix it. It seems that the order of Config and Begin are correct?!? I am also not sure why this changed if are remove the define for the radio. I am using the ethernet gateway.

@martim Did you read this thread?
https://forum.mysensors.org/topic/9431/solved-esp8266-mysensors-2-2-0-problem-with-static-ip-configuration
-
@electrik Hi, Yes. I think so. I have create an empty sketch and upload this to the board and after that my original code. But without any improvement.
-
@martim uploading an empty sketch does not clear the eeprom.
In the MySensors examples folder/menu, there is a ClearEeprom sketch. Upload that, run it (check serial monitor) and then upload your original sketch again.

@mfalkvidd Thanks. I have cleared the eeprom with this and after that install the sketch again. Still DHCP.
This is the sketch:/** * The MySensors Arduino library handles the wireless radio link and protocol * between your home built sensors/actuators and HA controller of choice. * The sensors forms a self healing radio network with optional repeaters. This is the logging:
connected with CycloneIT, channel 5 dhcp client start... ip:192.168.10.228,mask:255.255.255.0,gw:192.168.10.1
I am using MySensors 2.2.0 and Arduino 1.8.5 and download the latest boards from:
http://arduino.esp8266.com/stable/package_esp8266com_index.jsonI am not sure what I am missing, maybe it is a simple thing in the sketch, if I comment out the #define MY_RADIO_NRF24 then it works???

As temporary workaround, you can reserve the ip you want assigned on the dhcp server configuration (I'd guess it is your wifi router)
