PIR sensor or kinda?

Hello,
I am not a technician but I am looking for a motion or kind of sensor to detect a specific movement in an area (ex: the direction something in the field is moving). We need to connect it to a RaspberryPi for a multimedia (possibly) art installation!Can you kindly suggest something?
