Very special touch sensor (loxone)
-
Has anyone ever seen this ?:
https://shop.loxone.com/enuk/touch-surface.htmlIt seems to be a touch panel that can be put behind a piece of wood of 3 cm thick.
Would love to make this with mysensors... Anyone a clue what type of sensor would be required ?

It looks like it uses a proprietary connection

Yeah it uses Loxone protocol or something. But I am interested in trying to do the same with MySensors....

You need capacitive sensors, but I don't know if you can get reach the 3cm surface thickness as this sensor.
-
The surface will matter. Nearby objects will matter if you make it sensitive enough to go through 30mm of material. It may also limit how close together the pads can be. I think the important bits are the values of the resistors and the dielectric of the material.
A good general read on this:

Nice, I'm working on something similar but of course with MySensors, no success at the moment but I'm not giving up
