Monitor, display, control, but no automation, no controller?
-
My desire is to monitor sensors, display their values and in some cases, simple on/off type control. At this point automation is not needed and as such I don't want a controller/Home Automation.
What I envision is a Sensebender Gateway (via ethernet), MySensors network with sensors, maybe some relays and a PC. On the PC I could see running Dashing/Smashing (or similar user experience) to display the data (and implement virtual switches for simple on/off control).
How can I do that the simplest?
I see that I can use something like Domoticz or HAAS, or use a controller like Vera. But those seem kludgy, overcomplicate and require chasing down additional ratholes to figure out those systems.
BTW ... How do you search these forums? I see no search box. And yes, I know it is not right to ask two very different questions in one post.
