Allowing to "force" parent node remotely from MYSController (or gateway)
-
I have a problematic spot in my house that did fail very often. After taking the laptop there it was obvious that there were failed transmissions. I have connected a repeater but problem still remained. I moved the serial gateway to myscontroller and noticed that the node does not automatically connect to the repeater even after a long time with many failures. I have re-started everything in a sequence and forced parent id in the sketch and now everything is working fine. It would have been great if you could change the topology from the controller and write the parent id to the eeprom so it will become a permanent change. In larger sensor networks starting to update the sketches to all the sensors to bind them to a new repeater can be really tiresome.
