Ethernet Gateway 2.0 not working - reboots

Using either 2.0 release version installed through arduino IDE 1.6.9 library manager or the latest 2.01b version from git, I can't get the Ethernet gateway to work.
I'm using an UNO clone with built in W5100 (Etherten) with the GatewayW5100 sketch powered by a 12volt 1.5amp HDD power supply.
Fixed IP or DHCP doesn't matter it will still print the correct IP to the serial monitor.
With radio of without (commented out in sketch) doesn't matter.When trying to connect to it with MYSController it says it connects but seems to then reboot.
Serial gateway Sketch works perfectly.
The standard arduino ethernet sketches work fine like eg. WebServer sketch.
It also works correctly with the latest 1.5 mysensors release.Sometimes it will receive data but will still randomly reboot.
So I'm all out of ideas.
I would like to add some more debugging output to see where it gets stuck but not sure where to put it.

@Jason37 Don't know if this is the same problem but in this post they fixed the reboot by going back to IDE 1.6.7 They were on 1.6.10 though so may not be the same thing. I have W5100 shield on an uno and it did compile and run on 1.6.9

@Boots33 thanks, I searched but didn't even see that post, will try 1.6.7 and see how it goes.
