    • RE: Ethernet gateway not willing to accept IP number

      Thanks @mfalkvidd
      I'm not sure I understood your observation - probably I am missing something quite basic.

      I have a RasPi with Home Assistant installed (controller), with IP address 192.168.1.97, and I have connected to this RasPi an Arduino with the radio module - this is my serial controller.

      I would like to use also an ethernet gateway (in home assistant you can have more than one fateway), to receive signals of sensors in some remote rooms, and therefore I am using a W5100, NRF24L01, and an arduino (nano). I am asking through the code that this should have the IP address 192.168.1.66.

      What is wrong with this setup?

      Yes, it is defined before the MySensors include
      And yes, it is defined in the same address range

      Here it is the code

    • Ethernet gateway not willing to accept IP number

      Dear all,
      I tried to use an ethernet gateway, following exactly the instructions here:
      https://www.mysensors.org/build/ethernet_gateway

      and using the WizNET (W5100) Ethernet module.

      I got the followinf messages from the arduino monitor:
      0;255;3;0;9;Starting gateway (RNNGA-, 2.0.0)
      0;255;3;0;9;TSM:INIT
      0;255;3;0;9;TSM:RADIO:OK
      0;255;3;0;9;TSM:GW MODE
      0;255;3;0;9;TSM:READY
      IP: 255.255.255.255
      0;255;3;0;9;No registration required
      0;255;3;0;9;Init complete, id=0, parent=0, distance=0, registration=1
      0;255;3;0;9;TSP:SANCHK:OK
      0;255;3;0;9;TSP:SANCHK:OK
      I used the code provided in the mysensors package (2.0) from the arduino program, where it specifies as IP address
      #define MY_CONTROLLER_IP_ADDRESS 192, 168, 1, 97

      I cannot find this gateway with my controller - not at 192.168.1.97 nor at 255.255.255.255
      Can anyone explain me why?
      Thanks a lot

      I can see the "camera.ip_camera" entity now among currrent entities, and I added it to the home Screen.

      Anyway, I cannot see anything and instead I only have a window saying: "IP Camera(Error loading image)"

      I must specify that if with my browser I go to the same ip, I can see the camera OK, no problem, as I already set it up with the FOSCAM software.

      Does anyone else had the same problem / solved it?

      Thanks, I'll try.

      @martinhjelmare Thanks a ot.
      Is there any guide/manual where all these messages are explained?

      Plus, is there anywhere written what all these terms mean?

      TSP:MSG:SEND 255-255-0-0 s=255,c=3,t=3,pt=0,l=0,sg=0,ft=0,st=ok:

      @martinhjelmare
      Thanks Martin.

      I uploaded the GatewaySerial to the arduino working as gateway, but if I upload the sketch and I open the monitor, I obtain this error:

      0;255;3;0;9;Starting gateway (RNNGA-, 2.0.0)
      0;255;3;0;9;TSM:INIT

      What does it mean?

      @mfalkvidd @Boots33

      Thanks a lot, I knew I was missing something basic. For the newbies like me, it would be good to mention this somewhere (if you have not done so already and I missed it).

      In the Home Assistant website it is mentioned that they only support 1.4 and 1.5. I'm trying with 2.0.

      Thanks Again

    • RE: Converting a sketch from 1.5.x to 2.0.x

      Dear all, I'm a bit lost.
      I upgraded the library in Arduino to 2.0.0 and now I am having big problems.

      I downloaded the sketch for the relay from the MySensors website:
      https://www.mysensors.org/build/relay
      but I suppose this is still for 1.5

      I tried to modify the sketch as suggested - I do not receive any compiling error, but the skectch simply does not do anything. If I use the "monitor" in Arduino IDE, I do not see anything 0_1469262004446_RelayActuator2.ino

      There must be something fundamentally wrong in my code, can anyone help?

    • RE: where to change code for NRF24L01

      @boozz Yes I'm using it, a 4.7 uF one, always use it also with the uno.

      The problem is not that I cannot transmit, the sketch does not even start to run, as it cannot initialise the radio.

      I think is a problem of pins

    • RE: where to change code for NRF24L01

      Hi,
      I am trying to use an Arduino Mega 2560 connected to several sensors.

      Browsing internet and also this forum, I found that the NRF24L01+ module needs to be connected in a different way (see here, i.e.

      CE 40 (instead of 9)
      CNS/CS 53 (instead of 10)
      MOSI 51 instead of 11
      MISO 50 instead of 12
      SCK 52 instead fo 13

      Then they suggest to change the CE and CS pins

      Reading this thread, it seems that I only need to add to my sketch these lines:

      #define RADIO_CE_PIN 40 // radio chip enable
      #define RADIO_CS_PIN 53 // radio SPI serial select

      MyTransportNRF24 transport(RADIO_CE_PIN, RADIO_CS_PIN, RF24_PA_LEVEL);

      But it does not seem to work, as I still obtain "Radio init fail"

      Could you please help me?
