Looking for very simple rocker switch
-
Does anyone know if a rocker switch exists that can directly connect to Dupont wires?
Right now I use these, but they are very big and expensive:
It seems all of them are tiny and/or designed for soldered connections. They have very thin pins.

I found these very cheap "computer power" cables.

I could connect one end to the 5V output and the other to the pin input?
-
Maybe those ?

Thanks! How can you tell if their pins are thick enough to fit into a Duport connector snugly?
-
@alowhum except the datasheet, I don't know
I have to make a lcsc order now, if you want I can order the "legion" one to try on a breadboard. The others are too expensive for things I don't need
-
Sure! If you can order just one, I'd be curious to know if it would work.

Turns out those ATX power switches are not latching
But in the end we decided it would also be good to use momentary buttons instead, and show the state on the display. This also allows the controller to change the state without any issue.
-
It is probably a personal preference, but I like to use non-latching, and do "software latching" instead. As you mentioned, this allows for additional features such as changing the setting from another node, or changing after a specified time has passed.
The big exception is power switches. These are a bit hard to use unless they really do latch

I finally made and receive the order, I ordered this one and it's huge. So huge that the pins are in fact way too big (0.8*1.2mm section) to fit on a breadboard or in a Dupont connector

Hahaha, that's hilarious
Thanks for trying though, really appreciate it!
