Help me choose smd components from mouser
-
Hello,
I am trying to buy some components form mouser but I don't understand all parameters.
Currently I want to select the 4.7uF smd capacitor in 603 size.
I chose the "case code - in" to be 0603. Is this correct ? I am confused because I found out that there is 0603 in mm and in Inch. So when I create my eagle files with 0603 package, is this inch or mm ? http://www.topline.tv/SizeChart.html
I am also confused about the "Series" filter. I couldn't understand what it mean.
Thank you.

Can you help me in this please @tbowmo ?
Thanks. -
Look at the filters - there is one for "case code-in" and one for "case code-mm". So if you pick 0603 in "case-code-in", you get a normal 0603 part (metric 1608). If you pick 0603 in "case-code-mm", you'll get the metric 0603 (imperial 0201).
FYI I have ordered a lot 0805 cap's and resistors from this seller on aliexpress ($2-3 per 100) and haven't had any problems with them yet.
In Eagle 0603 is going to be the imperial 0603 part.

Thanks a lot for the clear explanation. I understand now that I will do a filter "case code-in" equal to 0603 and this will get me the same size which is used by Eagle.
Any idea what is the "Series" filter ?

Go with imperial sizes for components, otherwise you'll get a surprise when you get them. Made the mistake myself.. 0402 metric is damn small and impossible to do manual smd with :)
@tbowmo Yeah I read approx. 50 replies in the thread related to mysensor node, that's why I wanted to make sure before I order :)
You suggest a specific type/or link from mouser for a 4.7uf for the radio ? I am afraid to choose a wrong value and I want to make like 50 boards :)

@tbowmo I found now that my cart had components in 0603 metric :) Damn :)

I chose a ceramic 4u7 capacitor.. Check prices, and voltage ratings.. For the voltage, choose something a little higher than the maximum supply voltage that you want to use.
for 5V supply, go with 6V or 10V (then there are some margins left). for 3v3 go for a 5/6V capacitor.

@tbowmo Thanks a lot. It is just that "Series" filter which is confusing me :) I am searching to know what it means because I find that all factors are the same except for this filter, and the price varies.
