I am getting this error message "!TSM:CHKID:FAIL (ID=255)". It looks like the gateway and node are trying to communicate with each other and I have add a capacitor to each unit. I have tried switch radios/units, but no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

@jmmorgan83 welcome to the MySensors community!

      Id 255 is reserved.
Assign another id to the node.

I thought that node id is auto obtained from the gateway. How do I assign the node ID?

@jmmorgan83 gateways do not assign node ids. Node ids can be assigned by a controller or by defining MY_NODE_ID in the sketch.

Great! That worked. I was just trying to get it to work between the node and gateway, and the motion example didn't have the MY_NODE_ID in the example.
