Wall switch enclosure
-
Hi there
I'm looking for a wall switch enclosure, and in fact maybe to buy one instead of printing myself (however printing is also an option, but I think, that factory made one will look nicer).
What I'm looking is the similar to this:
http://www.ebay.de/itm/TKB-Home-Z-Wave-Plus-Dual-Paddle-Wall-Switch-TZ56D-ZW5-/122201876698?ssPageName=ADME:X:EAC:GB:3160
And need only mechanical part - i.e. those buttons. I'm sure there is quite a number of different ones out there and maybe someone of you have stumbled on some version already manufactured?
The idea is simple it is not locking after press: press up, it presses the switch and comes back to "neutral", switch down - the same - presses and back to "neutral".If you have some good 3D printing version, that would also be interesting
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
Regards
Justas

Any hardware store (at least here in Sweden) sells mechanical switches. Most of them (at least here) have the possibility to add a spring under the button to make them monostable. Some switch-series also have a roller shutter variant with up/down buttons.

Hi,
Thanks for the answer. Do you mean the standard ones wall switches mountable into the wall, something like this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Gang-2-Way-Home-Wall-Light-Switch-Push-Button-Switchs-Plastic-Panel-AC110-250V/161843079796?rt=nc&_soffid=5025613209&_soffType=OrderSubTotalOffer&_trksid=p5731.m3795
or some "flat" versions? If something different, wouldn't it be too difficult for you to drop me the link to any example of that?
Thank in advance!

I'm also looking for a wall switch enclosure, preferably battery operated. Closest I could find is something like this:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/VHOME-Wireless-433-Remote-Control-Switch-AC-220V-Receiver-Wall-Panel-Remote-Transmitter-Hall-Bedroom-Ceiling/32787089757.htmlIt uses a tactile push button as you can see from this picture (ordered one for testing):
Unfortunately, the battery space is for 12V. Ideally I could use a similar enclosure with room for 2 AAA batteries and space for a custom PCB/RF.

VHOME also makes some touch switches (with glass panel) so you could use one with two touch "buttons", top to switch on, bottom to switch off. They change the prices all the time, but if you take a few minutes to check their shop there are always a few "half priced" between 8 and 10$
https://www.aliexpress.com/store/group/Switch-shape-remote-control/1112973_510025631.html@freynder I think you got ripped off, you should buy VHOME from SAMT shop, they are the makers (I think) and much cheaper, half price compared to your link.

@Nca78 I did not know about the glass panel. Looks great!

Those glass switches linked here are beautiful, has anyone got any experience with them?

Yes I have a bunch. They only have a different "on" signal for each button (no on/off).
I wanted to use them with my RFXTRX433 but when I enable the right mode in the settings I have a lot of fake detections flooding my device list. So they are aside at the moment, waiting for me to have time to design a proper MySensors PCB.
They have leds to confirm when you press the button, and you can fix the base to the wall using screws of double sided tape (supplied). And the seller is great, he sent the wrong color for one item, when I told him he proposed to send me the right color for free in my next order (and did it for real), no need to bargain.

@Nca78 - If only all sellers were like that! If you ever get anything done with that issue please update us here

I have made a MySensors PCB, waiting for it but Seed managed to slow down my order just enough so that they can finish production and register at DHL before they go on holidays
