Car present detector needed

Hi, this is my first post, I have never experimented with arduino before but there always a first time. I would like to build some kind of sensor with some kind of long range that can detect if the car is in at least in the driveway, has anyone seen something similar to this ?

Why not have a battery operated sensor transmitting every 2-5 min? When it's not in the driveway it wouldn't be in range :)

2 Arduinos + 2 radios.

Make sure to set the car sensor with static parent pointing to your gateway or repeater mounted near the driveway (see gw.begin()). This will make the car sensor node stop searching for other parents.

I you plan to put a sensor in your car you should add proper protection on the power supply to protect against load dump. You can get peak voltage up to 100V for several of ms, that kill most unprotected Electronic.
