Optical Window Sensor

Hi togehter,

have somebody build a sensor which works without a reedcontact. I mean an optical window sensor like a homematic?

Hi hek,

the sensors dont use a reedcontact to detect the window status, but an infrared distance sensor. This sensor dont need a magnet.

Hi!

You should try to make a node with the TCRT5000 IR Barrier Line Track sensor
It emits an infrared light and detects the reflection.

@andriej Hi, I had problem using the main branch mysensors/Raspberry, that because of the bit-field struct (header_s) in Sensor.h They will get packed in different order on the arduino compared to the RPi (at least with my compiler, gcc). In order to fix this I created the 1.4dev branch. It uses full bytes instead of the bit-fields, but you need (of cause) to compile both the sensors (arduino) and the gateway (RPi) using the 1.4dev branch. We need to fix this in the main branch later on (and use the same files as in mysensors/Arduino/libraries/MySensors)

It looks like duplicate email notifications may be linked to system settings or preferences. Have you noticed if the issue happens after specific actions or changes? Investigating your notification settings might shed some light

@CodeGarage What I want is a lion powered Sensor if possible. And that in a case I can stick to the door frame. As I cannot screw or drill into the doorframe. But I have no idea how much current that draws.

I hope the project won't be buried due to the fact that the protocol is the basis of nippy devices (https://nippysmart.com/) I also hope that the development of mysensors won't be directed in 2 directions - one commercial only for nippy - the other for all the rest, which could result in the two versions diverging so much that they will be incompatible and the second one will simply be buried.

Old topic, I know. Did anything ever come of this? I'm also thinking it would be easy & cheap to get the espnow working as a transport layer. I found this: https://www.mysensors.org/apidocs-beta/classESPNOW.html But it goes above my head and abilities when it comes to code.
