Not sure anyone has tried over MQTT, but it should work if the controller allows/supports it.

Is there a list of supported controllers? I am using openhab for mine. But since it's just interfacing via mqtt not sure how that would work.

Is there an additional tool like the https://www.mysensors.org/controller/myscontroller that works with the mqtt integration?

MQTT, not that I know of..

AFAIK normal OTA updates is only supported by myscontroller and MyController.

Hmm. is it possible to have a serial+mqttclient gateway? and that way i can have a method to update ota while still utilizing the mqtt integration?

No, not covering the same sensor network. I know that people have done some pretty advanced setups using NodeRed, but I'm afraid I can't help you with that.

@Jason-Brunk i believe MyController supports OTA over MQTT

That could work. Since it's mqtt I don't think it would interfere with openhab. So I could use openhab as my primary controller and mycontroller to manage/update.

Im going to have to check that out. Thanks!!

Is there a "getting started with OTA" doc somewhere? For like what bootloader I need ect?

@mfalkvidd looks like that thread got off topic a bit :)

guess i need to get some mem chips and just kind of start playing with it. The mqtt thing I think is going to be the tough part since I haven't seen any reference docs on how it breaks up the binaries to send out over the RF. I have 0 starting point to try to get it working with the mqtt client gateway I am running. But we will see.

@scalz oh sweet. More info :) Very cool. Did anyone find a good location for the memory chips? I am not opposed to ali but amazon prime would be better :)
