@Anticimex - thanks, starting to understanding things now

@gregl - Which sensor did you use?

I just googled "waterproof DS18b20" and got waterproof versions coming back like http://www.adafruit.com/product/381 . So I guess with one of these (in place of the one mentioned in the example) everything should work?

PS. Is there a way to get a "email notification" for any updates to a forum topic here? Haven't found how to do this yet...

PSS. The temperature reported into VeraLite would then be accessible by any LUA code I write/use within VeraLite then? (haven't got this far, but I'd like to use the temperature to control other devices)

Any advice/directions regarding how implementing pool/spa temperature sensor for my VeraLite?

I stumbled across mysensors.org and then https://github.com/mysensors/Vera but I still bit confused. Is the mysensors project something that could solve what I'm after, and what would the solution look like? i.e. would I need an Arduino board + temperature probe, plus some Arduino software from mysensors.org, plus then a VeraLite plugin from code from https://github.com/mysensors/Vera? Wonder how complicated it all would be.

    thanks
