when you say freezes: Do you mean it hangs totally, which means it isn't pingable @ all?
Or just won't accept connections from the sensors?

RE: Please help me decide. Single vs Multisensor
Thats true, but at the other hand, more sensitive to errors.

Please help me decide. Single vs Multisensor
Hi guys,
at the moment I have about 30 sensors, all single (1 Sensor, 1feature).
Should I go combine sensors, as example temp with motion and fire?
Or should I build a sensor for each purpose?Thanx.

RE: W5100 Gateway hangs /freezes after some time.
Ok, running on 2.1.1 and commented out the following lines:
#define MY_GATEWAY_MAX_CLIENTS 20
and
//#define MY_INCLUSION_BUTTON_FEATURE
is running now for three days and looks good that it will keep it that way.
thanx guys.

RE: W5100 Gateway hangs /freezes after some time.
I upgraded to 2.1.1 and I keep testing.

RE: W5100 Gateway hangs /freezes after some time.
Hi,
ok, starts to crash again. I replaced the whole hardware aswell.
Yes if I uncomment them, the nodes connect normal.I'm not using v.2.1.1, my nodes and gateways are on v.2.0.0
The next step will be to use an esp8266 as gateway instead of the arduino uno.
Thanx.

RE: W5100 Gateway hangs /freezes after some time.
It stopped crashing.
But the problems just switched.
Only one device is communicating with the Gateway. The other devices aren't working anymore. My Relays and one temp and hum sensor are not communicating any more. And they are 5 meters away from the Gw.

RE: W5100 Gateway hangs /freezes after some time.
Looks good. I will keep you up to date if the error appears again.
Thanx.-

RE: W5100 Gateway hangs /freezes after some time.
Ok.
I will try that when I come home from work. -
RE: W5100 Gateway hangs /freezes after some time.
Sorry but we are drifting away from the main problem.
-
RE: W5100 Gateway hangs /freezes after some time.
yes there is. There is no signal getting through between the ground and the first floor.
-
RE: W5100 Gateway hangs /freezes after some time.
Thanx for your answer.
That means, if I would use an raspberrypi as a gateway that could support devices?
I would like to have only 1 gateway for each floor and I plan to have about 20 sensors connected to each gateway .Thanx.
-
RE: W5100 Gateway hangs /freezes after some time.
4 connections? Wow that isn't much.
Is the limit because of hardware limitations?
If the answer is yes, then I could use an raspberry pi with more "power" compared to the arduino.Thanx.

W5100 Gateway hangs /freezes after some time.
Hi guys,
I'm having the "interesting" error, that my gateway which is connected via Lan (Uno+W5100 module) keeps hanging after some time.
It isn't even pingable.
Reseting it and everything works fine.
It is not a thermal problem. I removed the case to make sure. There are 5 senors connected to this gateway.
The code I am using is this one:

RE: Arduino Nano, W5100 Ethernet, NRF24L01+, wont get or use an ip (dhcp or static)
The baddest part is, I have to reorder these lan shields and wait till the show up.
-
RE: Arduino Nano, W5100 Ethernet, NRF24L01+, wont get or use an ip (dhcp or static)
HI,
I think two of my lan-shields are broken. The problem is that they aren't total broken.
I mean, they are working sometimes, and then they dont.Sorry. for stealing your time.

@hek said:
Hi.
I also tried use an external power supply which.
Same result.
The led's of the lan-port are flashing like from every other device. -
RE: Arduino Nano, W5100 Ethernet, NRF24L01+, wont get or use an ip (dhcp or static)
To get to the point.
The ethernetmodule isnt working with the code from mysensors and I don't know why.
If I upload a webserver code for testing dhcp or static is working. And ping wont make sense if the interface isnt working at all.
-
RE: Arduino Nano, W5100 Ethernet, NRF24L01+, wont get or use an ip (dhcp or static)
No IP via dhcp.
If I change it to static, it isn't pingable. There isn't not even a dhcp discover / offer and so on. Tested it with wireshark. -
Arduino Nano, W5100 Ethernet, NRF24L01+, wont get or use an ip (dhcp or static)
Hi folks,
after a long time of googling around I would like to ask you for your help.
I'm using an arduino nano, a w5100 Ethernet shield and a nrf24l01+.
The problem is that it doesnt get an ip adress via dhcp or if I configure the ip static it won't also work.
If I upload a webserver example it is working. So the w5100 ethernet shield is working.
Here is my sketch: (used the one from this website).
