Great OP. Any updates? I'm frankly surprised that neither sparkfun nor adafruit nor arduino have come out with a board for it. What gives?

@wes If you create a project/page on openhardware.io about the temp sensors, we can embed it on mysensors.org.

@division can you please describe which concrete RF24 Library you took , which version of MySensors library you use, and how you integrate the RF24 library into MySensors?

This is a home automation and sensors forum, so unless there is someone with the knowledge you are looking for, it is going to be a little difficult to get help

One of the things I do at work is to manage the disposal of old computers and electronics. As part of that I often find different multi pin dupont headers like these, usually with a bit of cable already on them. I sometimes salvage these from the e-waste and add them to my parts bin. Just one of the things that I like about my job.

@hard-shovel said in Water Sensor: typical types are H11AA1 or LTV814 etc Thank you! Seems like the best way to for me than. Will order and wait for them to arrive

@gohan that’s what I use in my setup - W and HW. The only exception is those Lora compatible Moteinos where I have to use either rfm95 or rfm69hcw so I’m going for the HCW version.

I think there is no way a cheap sensor can actually make a precise measurement to detect humans in a room, but a system with that kind of sensors and a image processing device it could make a more reliable solution, but would go in the expensive solutions.

my_device is your device name, you should read it in the code or into the settings, or just subscribe to # with a mqtt client and reboot the sonoff, you should see the sonoff publishing to some topics. Using the sonoff over mqtt is out of the scope of mysensors as it is would get controlled by the controller (OpenHab, Domoticz, HA, etc)

@gohan more safe. So what is the more part?? What happens if there is a problem and they got shorted. then there is a lot of energy released in a real short of time. batteries with a real low internal resistance are not suited for use where there are unguarded. Only if you really know what you are doing and knows that the batteries are of high quality. I worked at a company that made LiFePO4 batteries and battery monitor hardware. And i see the result of mishaps.

Thanks to both :) The reason I asked was some time back I was playing with a RasPi board and found the micro-usb to be very unreliable. JohnRob

@peerv I don't use one of those "red" adapters but mine does the same and it seems to be no problem. Just test it, at worst case there might be some communication problem but that's all and I don't think it should even actually happen.

@sentur since it was launched 6 days ago, I seriously doubt anyone has had the ability to try it. Anyway, please don't post the same question in multiple places. It wastes people's time. Most users don't have as much time as they would like to spend on projects, and wasting their time by splitting the discussion to multiple threads isn't very nice. In case anyone wants to follow the existing discussion, head over to https://forum.mysensors.org/post/84076

@boylucky I don't foresee any difficulties doing that, except maybe efficiently powering a gateway from batteries. If you can do solar in the garden, then maybe that's your answer.
