Would it be possible to use this ONLY to manage OTA updates for a network of MySensors nodes using the MQTT protocol? I have a ESP8266 based MQTT gateway but I'm using a different controller.

I'd love to help provide a step by step guide but I can't get it to work properly with the ESP MQTT gateway and Pro Mini RFM69 nodes. Does this controller support MY_NODE_ID AUTO?
-
@mpp from the mqtt build page: "NOTE: No controller supports dynamic ID assignment through MQTT"
Thanks @mfalkvidd, the table on the controller page says yes for “node ID generation" which seems to contradict this?
Setting the ID manually still results in no parent being found though.

Status >> Resources logspage can you check, Does MyController receives ID request from your node? -
Great worl. Still prefer OpenHAB for my home automation, but for sensor management and OTA seems to be the way to go. Thanks!
