      The banner shows each time I open the forum. I have also noticed that size of window affects if its shown or not, smaller window does not show it for me.

          The banner is shown on my ipad as well, but only in landscape mode (probably due to the browser width as suggested above)

              Looks similar to this issue from 1 year ago https://github.com/psychobunny/nodebb-plugin-desktop-notifications/issues/14

                Yep saw it... looks like that they solved it once.. wonder why it would appear again.. What makes it even stranger is that only some people is experiencing it.

                Corrected a couple of js errors I saw here on this install today. But I doubt that would change anything regarding this issue.

                  For a dirty quick fix you can add the following custom filter in your adblock preferences (works on µBlock)

                  forum.mysensors.org###header-menu > .visible-md-block.visible-lg-block.desktop-notification-permission

                        Can't help more than referring to this (we're using the latest version of the plugin(0.2.2)):

                        https://github.com/psychobunny/nodebb-plugin-desktop-notifications/issues

                        If we'll get an update I'll install it here.

                          I'm so tired of clicking close tens of times per day so I figured out how to block this on a URL-based adblocker. (The uBlock suggestion is great, but only works on adblockers that can block using CSS.)
                          On Adblock Plus the following filter works:

                          ||forum.mysensors.org/templates/partials/nodebb-plugin-desktop-notifications/*

                          Will try to find a filter for iOS as well. The problem is even worse there because the banner hides several useful buttons ("WATCH" for example).

                            Thanks for the ABP filter, this banner bugging me for desktop notifications that I'll never enable was driving me absolutely nuts.

                            While using the filter works great, I would rather see the plugin go away as long as it ignores settings within Firefox to disable all desktop notification attempts. Only started seeing this about a month or so ago, very strange.

                                          This is a clean install of firefox as of 2 days ago.
                                          Had to rebuild my computer.
                                          Maybe that has some bearing on the problem.
