Simple question, why are relays defined as "LIGHT"?

Is the index (3) used for only relays or other stuff as well?

I have a FABtotum to print cases.

Yep, it is an unfortunate name (it has historic heritage from the Vera controller). Think of it as a general binary relay. The name might change in the future.
