V_RGB light strip

I built a RGB strip with some neopixels. I got it working, boots, flashes the lights.... but I have 0 idea how to send data to this thing to change colors lol.
I am using mqtt and openhab. Anyone have any examples of this type of light node?

@TheoL I think I may already be using your code
just can't figure out how to send messages to the node. I am using a mqtt client gateway. So I have my mqtt nodes but looking for the format of the messages to send, and then I can try to get it in to openhab.
