i think that's the forum software.. not anything to do with your "mysensors" physical nodes.
i do get that as well and would like it to go away :)

Strange. I don't get it in chrome. We're using the latest version of dektop-notifications-plugin.

You might wanna open an issue here describing your problems and/or environment.

I have the same "problem". Chrome once asked me for permissions for this side to display notifications (which I declined ;) ). How I see this banner. You can simply close it by clicking on the x though.

You can accept the request from the banner. It's just a message from the forum requesting your permission to update the number of unread topics in your browser.

I have it when I open the MySensors forum in firefox,

No problems for me when I use chrome. If I use Microsoft Edge on my Surface Pro, Windows 10 then this keeps happening. Not bothered though.

I'm using the latest version of Chrome from a few different systems and always get the banner when first connecting to the forum. Very annoying. This has been happening since the latest forum updates.

              Cheers

The banner shows each time I open the forum. I have also noticed that size of window affects if its shown or not, smaller window does not show it for me.

The banner is shown on my ipad as well, but only in landscape mode (probably due to the browser width as suggested above)

Yep saw it... looks like that they solved it once.. wonder why it would appear again.. What makes it even stranger is that only some people is experiencing it.

Corrected a couple of js errors I saw here on this install today. But I doubt that would change anything regarding this issue.

For a dirty quick fix you can add the following custom filter in your adblock preferences (works on µBlock)

                                  forum.mysensors.org###header-menu > .visible-md-block.visible-lg-block.desktop-notification-permission

Can't help more than referring to this (we're using the latest version of the plugin(0.2.2)):

                                        https://github.com/psychobunny/nodebb-plugin-desktop-notifications/issues

If we'll get an update I'll install it here.

I'm so tired of clicking close tens of times per day so I figured out how to block this on a URL-based adblocker. (The uBlock suggestion is great, but only works on adblockers that can block using CSS.)
On Adblock Plus the following filter works:

                                          ||forum.mysensors.org/templates/partials/nodebb-plugin-desktop-notifications/*

Will try to find a filter for iOS as well. The problem is even worse there because the banner hides several useful buttons ("WATCH" for example).
