    • RE: Which Arduino IDE version?

      I am a relatively new user to MySensors, and I think a bug such as this needs to be described on the main page on how to build an Ethernet Gateway. This problem caused me a lot of frustation, and I don't know enough about how the hardware works to even realize that my gateway was being reset every 2 seconds. Anyone trying to build a W5100 ethernet gateway with a fresh Arduino install is going to experience this bug, and I think it will reflect poorly on the whole MySensors project if this bug is not highlighted on the build page.

      The biggest benefit of the MySensors project is that getting up and running is relatively easy, but bugs such as this definitely make it harder.

      @sundberg84
      OK, I figured out how to do what I wanted. I am planning to connect a regulated power supply that provides ~3.3VDC. The main thing I had to figure out was how to configure the PCB when neither a battery booster nor a regulator are needed. I think either shorting the REG pin and shorting the regulator or shorting the BAT pin and shorting the battery booster would each achieve the desired result.

      Sorry, I wasn't clear. I just meant running from a DC power supply, not batteries. It seems that the intended use is to have 5V Vcc when running from a power supply, but I would like a 3.3V Vcc. Thanks for your help. I have 10 of these PCBs in hand.

      I would like to use this PCB with a 3.3V I2C sensor (data line and power must be <3.6V) and AC power. Is there a recommended way to accomplish this?

    • Is HS3 Serial Gateway compatible with Hometroller Zee S2?

      I'm thinking about starting a MySensors project using the Hometroller Zee S2 and the plug-in for HS3. Can anyone confirm that this plug-in works with the Zee S2? The Zee S2 uses "HS3 PI S2" software as opposed to just HS3. My understanding is that this is trimmed down software to work with a Raspberry Pi 2. A Zee S2 can be had for only $180 compared to over $500 to get a Hometroller-SEL with a Z-NET.

      I would like to get a Homeseer controller instead of a Vera because it appears that they have much better technical support, and I expect I wil be needing some support since I'm new to home automation.
