I check here a few times a week to see if there is someone that needs help. I think this is a great platform and I want to keep it alive.

    "Is there anybody out there?"

Great to see you @oldsurferdude !

I check in here regularly as well. Mostly I just ban spammers (a few per week) but I read all posts.

Me to. I have to admit, most of my new sensors use openthread, but I still got some MySensors running.

@eiten sounds interesting. Could you share what your openthread setup looks like and what you have built? How would you compare it to the MySensors build experience?

I haven’t built any sensors in a while but maybe I should try openthread next time.

As a matter of fact, I have also moved on... To RFM69 😁. So currently in the process of migrating all my nodes from the NRF24 modules as they still, many year later just give issues. Few months ago purchased some RFM69 and was blown away how instantly these things work. I purchased some footprint adapters so I do not have to resolder everything from the easy MySensor boards.

Now, armed with ChatGPT to also migrate the gateway to multi-core (which I already wrote myself before, but ChatGPT does it even better..) so P1 / gateway activities are on different cores, also integrating MQTT over SSL - while optimizing the heap, building a whole front end to toggle sensors through MQTT... it is quite a bit of fun actually! πŸ˜„

Still checking in fairly often. I just moved to a new house, so I'm using it as an opportunity to pair down from 4 different gateways that I made over the years to 2: nrf5 for shorter range and LoRa for longer range. I could probably go to just 1 gateway, but what would I do with all those other sensors : )
