Energy harvesting switches

I got a new product update from RS components today with these on, I never new such things existed.

they use the operation of the switch to power it, activations are picked up by a receiver module. And it's not over expensive either.

@stephenmhall There's also the EnOcean line of products: https://www.enocean.com/en/smart-home-and-home-automation/

@Sparkman These are very cool! do you have them working at your place? would love to have some extra light switches without worrying about batteries.

@Moshe-Livne I don't have any of them, but know a few people that have played around with them. I installed all z-wave switches a few years ago, so likely won't change to a different technology for my switches for quite a while. I was first interested in the self-powered motion sensors as I would like to install a few in locations where changing batteries would require a ladder.
Cheers

@Sparkman would have been nice if they could charge from motion, wouldn't it?
