Direct Message others on forum

I can't seem to find the way to DM others on the forum. Does this feature exist? I see the ability to chat, but that is too real time.
Thanks.

@Terrence
Try the text balloon to the right of the top bar, called 'chats'.

Thanks Yveaux. I was looking for a direct message format, not chat.
-
@Terrence now I see. Sorry, I didn't read your question well.
-
@Yveaux From the lack of responses here, there may not be a DM option.

I'm not sure there is a difference between chat and DM. All messages are stored on the server, so it is possible to message people when they are offline. If they have chosen to, they will get notifications by email. Isn't that pretty much what DM is? or do you want a delay between sending a message and when it is received by the other part? I don't think DMs are delayed usually, at least not in the forums I've used.

@mfalkvidd Thanks for the clarification. I just wanted to make sure I did not need to worry about the other person being online when I sent a message. Chat will work.
