Martin, I don't run a sensenbender gateway, but I do have a vera plus with a regular gateway built with a pro-mini that I run as a serial gateway. First off, how do you have your sensenbender connected to your Vera? You mentioned that you tried the serial code on the sensenbebder gw. For that you need to connect to it with a USB to serial adapter such as an FTDI adapter. I have found that some serial port adapter chipsets do not work with the vera (at least on mine) such as the CH340 chipset versions. You need an actual FTDI or 2303 chipset version (I have used both on my vera plus). When you plug everything in and go to Apps > Develop apps > Serial Port Configuration, do you see a serial port showing in there? If so, what are your Baud, Parity, Data bits, Stop bits and Used by device settings?

@homer Not sure why you would want your Echo devices to handle the scenes, why not have your Vera take care of that? You could use the native scenes section of Vera or even better, use the PLEG and PLTS plugins. I am not sure about the Vera 3 capabilities as I run a Vera Plus, but I would think if nothing else PLEG should work.

@mfalkvidd Thank you. I forgot about that. Though, I'm curious if the sensor types that are supported by Vera work out of the box, or do they require some secondary/modified LUA scripting in order to function properly and display the data correctly?

After spending days trying to sort the problem, finally bit the bullet and upgraded MySensors Library, Arduino ide and Vera 3 UI5 to UI7. Thank God I finally did it. Had to set Serial Port Configuration baud to 115200 and redo MySensors inclusions. My Serial Gateway and MySensors Plugin are working fine now. Touch wood.

@komal-save please don't post the same wuestion multiple times. It will split our efforts instead of focusing them. If anyone can help, please post in https://forum.mysensors.org/post/88089 instead.

@komal-save not quite sure what you mean but if your device is already included you should not need to do anything to reconnect even if the gateway is temporarily unavailable but restarting your node should make it reconnect immediately. If your node has not been included then you need to use the inclusion procedure, red more here -> Vera Controller

Hello Use the include procedure on the MYSensors Plugin Icon under settings you will see start and stop if all is working properly just press the start button you will see a dialog that tells you to activate the sensor you wish to add. If all goes correctly you will see a node added as well as the sensor. Now that is how it use to work with earlier Libraries if you are using 2.2 library I will presume it will work the same way.

@korttoma Thanks, somehow I was under the impression that the MySensors GitHub devices were all I had to choose from. Your answer make me realize I could use any (most) of the Vera Std sensors. John

@johnrob What I meant was, wired nodes will most likely use an ethernet or RS485 gateway, if you wanted to go wireless with your nodes, you could use the serial gateway with an nRF24L01+ (which is what I am using) or an RFM69 or similar. There is also the ESP8266 route. So depending on how you want to connect your sensors to Vera will determine what gateway you will need. The MySensors site has a page on how to select a gateway. https://www.mysensors.org/build/select_gateway
