Building a gateway on Linux with a USB stick

Hi all,
I have been using an MQTT gateway on a RaspberryPi3 for a couple of years, but would like to migrate Openhab to a x64 mini PC.
I would like to know if it is possible to implement a gateway on Linux using a USB stick with an NRF24L01 on board like these:
