With the BME280 voltage regulator removed, I powered it stand-alone using a 3.3V bench power supply. Using Dave Jones's uCurrent in conjunction with a Fluke 87V multimeter, I measure the standby current at a mere 155 nanoamps. I had planned to power it from pins on the atmega328p and then powering it down between measurements, but at 155na I'm not sure it even matters, provided it's being powered from a battery. On the other hand, if the entire mote is being powered from a capacitor that's charged from solar energy that's harvested from only weak ambient indoor light.... I guess in that scenario it might depend on the relative leakage rate of the capacitor that's used for the mote's energy storage as to whether or not it's worth fussing about.

So I got another one of these and made a motion sensor version :-) [image: USMjwcCX3i0XJU8L-DnNu8CshXpRLDpMfxlDSmUgNvA-xoONFXf79MQ0T28SlvlSCZ2H6WfKGb_K2QsHSoPBSuBnJPhhQelgf2-DNrJb_0FN8j6sYv7vbI2oZ792D_pZZ-IdOT0kv1oDVzT2pZ3qTQ7c7U7Qm9YX3ZyDyBx6vLWsxnxBGpeUP2t_NyZ6NOErF8jcLWr3CeofpnExoH6a6bEGz7sfbKIkMIlk6Kype1mq862fSUe_3eieFaiEnbrW-SnD-WMaoK_sQxpgfgKP9dFKZBxjEiL56Csr7fzEH_MK0_lykDX7-aBljVoD_sNk07Pqe8Q8yvc8ZPL7ARgOR-u3-G6mnPdvLyJhzPb36ipHd3rxlsXWIgGxXqRIKjiDVnfj4MnLKe7JZg-zs0hJmb9ufsg59RTb5LxcYn_BvGI_cHevevzj0Ooc4zzKUv9fQbW0NsUMfYTfKQXdylhrINVyKMQm7VCOUygL4mxB1rZ9UMI9pIBKjkfzfHTh7PPPnbyPV5EbRfKNbE3Fl99-ktLzpzbWURduohh-tnZ1MmhDNck81jawKQ5LYU1CTIxxxdSkzeMLhNpjIzi74y3chv9CYzuYaM3ldEqcEVUsc5seUhVnVQ=w785-h589-no] I was thinking about making a multi sensor version of this. I have the sketches for many combinations of multi sensor sketches I have mashed together.

I use digital output. The R&C modification works only with digital output.

@mrwomble said: What was the hardest part of this little project, I hear you ask? Glueing the wiring up the wall in a neat enough way that my wife would never notice. LOL I know what you mean. :)

ok found the answer :stuck_out_tongue: the latest Time.h is only pointing to TimeLib.h so if I am calling TimeLib.h (instead of Time.h) directly it compiles

Hi S, Sadly, I understand my failings, and am stuck with BASIC I'm afraid. Usually, my system works ok, but this is usually a bit easier than this one. I have been learning BASIC since the 80s, and still am not fluent, and know to change would stop me in my tracks, so I plod on. I will find a way, but thanks anyway. C.

Did you verify that the message is received by the node? I'm not familiar with FHEM, please note, that the first outlet uses child ID 4. What's the debug output of the node?

@Cameron-Payne Hello and welcome! Great to hear your success :) About saving the state you shoud look at this ;) https://www.mysensors.org/download/sensor_api_20#saving-state And there are more infos about the API. Shortly save your state when it change, and load it in your setup.

@pjblink : Did you use any fuses between the 240v and the 220 > 5v module? Could you post a picture of the backside of your perfboard? I'm interested in how you wired everything up :)

@Lars65 Wondering if you have done anymore work on this Watering System? Also wondering why you are using a rain sensor in a greenhouse?

Inspired by this, I eventually got round to making a smaller gateway: [image: 35kk68m.jpg] [image: 2n7l0f6.jpg] I'm powering this from a 5V USB source, with an AM1117 3.3V regulator for the radio. I also took the opportunity to use the MySensors 2.0.0 Serial Gateway example, and to convert my existing sketches - I followed this thread.
