Thanks for the extensive reply, I'll come back with feedback once I got to test everything. Quick response wrt the battery: I already tested the better 3,7V Lithium battery on the new MySensors setup as well and it runs for a bit more than a week. The one in the picture (old setup) has been running for about half a year (since January). When using the 3x LR44 on the old setup it runs for months, with MySensors it runs a bit over a day.

@mpp - No, the voltage regulator is engaged when providing power to RAW and regulates the voltages down from whatever you input to 5v. Therefore you can remove it when providing a stable power source to VCC. What happens though is that there is a drain/leakage of current even when you provide power to VCC. Therefore its good to remove it. Edit: Therefore... I love my Swedenglish...

@mpp ground needs to be connected, otherwise the signal levels for the serial won't match.

@mpp said in Ping Pong with ESP8266 results in !TSM:FPAR:NO REPLY [solved]: So now the node is sending data but there's no ack/Invalid message length.. @gohan they're all HW, yes. I tested with single wire and coil antenna's. Atm I'm testing with authentic Moteino's with single wire. They all result in !TSM:FPAR:FAIL. Any progress on this front? I got the exact same things as the log you posted; loads of NACK's. Checked/replaced radios, antennes and caps ..

@mpp said in ets Jan 8 2013,rst cause:2, boot mode:(1,7): @sundberg84 i'm not using nrf at the moment but rfm69. Does the rfm radio also require a cap? And could you point me to a schematic for a cap on the voltage regulator? Doesn't the esp have an internal voltage regulator? I found this looks good. It wont hurt using capacitors but im sure some will do without as well. Under the header "Part Selection: Voltage Regulator" you find a typical schematics for a voltage regulator in this case LM1117. If you want to go specific you can in most cases look up recommended capacitors in the datasheet for your regulator. As a general rule I use one small 0,1uF and one large 10uF...

@mpp the esp stores (in a special area of the eeprom) ssid and key for the accesspoint it last connected to, and automatically connects back next time unless wifi is turned off in the sketch.
